We returned from
Quartzsite where we had been boondocking in the BLM for January. We wanted
to get back to the Tucson area so Terry could go the huge Tucson Gem Shows.
On our return trip to our winter vacation property near Benson, AZ the
day we traveled it rained big time. As I pulled into our property I was
close to the gate fence (didn't swing wide enough) and missed the old rock
drive and pullled off into the yard where I procedded to get stuck in the
mud big time. I was also frustrated as there was wreck on the interstate
and the overhead signage asked drivers to merge right. Well they
didn't and were rude about so it just backed up the traffic that much worse.
I even got so upset I pulled over hjalfway into the left lane to stop drivers
form zooming down the left lane to later nudge into the right lane. WHAT
ASSHOLES. Later as we moved along a HP officer was standing in the left
lane with his arms crossed defying drivers.
Along with that
the wipers on the truck would not reduce speed to pulse mode and later
not shut off at all. Update: Found this a common problem and found the
pulse control on Amazon for half price that what a dealer wants. Hint:
call a Chevy dealer and give them your VIN number and ask for the part
number and then go and buy it on Amazon. $185 at dealer $70 on Amazon.
Duh... You can see but the trailer wheels are kind of dug into the
hubs.
All we could do was let it set and wait
for the ground to dry out. Well a week ater it was time to move it.
Could have done it sooner but kind of wanted to not deal with it. We tried
to back it up but that was a no go. But going forward we got it out. After
washing it off we got it backed into its proper storage spot next to our
shop/garage.
We had gone on a couple days to Tucson
to the Gem Shows together and later Terry went on his own as I was just
not that into it. Later on Saturday we went back to town to the big
flea market and found a nice lawn ornament. I want more of these things.
New topic:
I have been frustrated with the wireless
internet service we can get at our AZ winter place. Our choice WiPower
at 5 Mbps but as they state (up to that speed) so I get about 2-3 Mbps
(just tested it at 7 PM and it came back as 700Kbps now that sucks... and
later 1.3Mbps) and that is at times not fast enough to stream Netflix etc.
We also can use my Verizon 4g unlimited data or the slow Datastorm dish
on top of our 5er.
So when I saw a yard sign on the main road
in Mascal right of I-10 to our place that said a new company was offering
10 Mbps (not up to, but guaranteed) I looked up their web site and found
not just that but the price was the same for my old crummy service of up
to 5Mbps. And they offered free install if I moved from my old service
provider. Sure I would have to pay a penalty of three months to disconnect
my current service with 30 days notice. But with free install it would
be about a wash.
Well taking to the new guys in town I asked
if they could came out and see if I could get service from their current
tower. They called ther other day as they were in the area checking sig
strength and where they might be albe to put up more towers. So they stopped
by and climbed up on our roof and their cheif engineer was with them. About
six of them were swarming around the place. As they walked out back they
got excited as we are high up over looking the area to the south wihich
is just the area they are looking to better serve. So we were asked if
we would be open to have them erect a wireless tower behind our garage.
We talked a bit and they know we have a HOA that may need approval. There
is another tower just west of us that they could see by another wireless
comapany. I checked and it was approved by the same HOA we have.
So we may have lucked out big time as they
might want to erect a small tower up to 100 ft. They offer residential
service up to 40Mbps. So it they put this thing on our propery we would
get 40 Mpgs and more for free. So we shall see... even if no tower goes
up on our site right away they stated we would still get service by the
end of March from another tower that will come online by then.
So now some shots of why they want a tower
on our property.
Where the tower would go.
So no matter what happens we will get expanded
internet from befor (up to) 5Mbps to 10Mbps (guaranteed) for the same price
as the 5Mbps service... or if things work out 40Mbps for free and also
being paid for the tower site on our place.
This is a little decieving as in real life
we look higher up over this area than the picuture suggests.
Who would not like a wireless internet
tower right on their property?
More on all this later....
