On the way back to AZ from
Montana last fall we stopped at Albuquerque at LaMesa RV and bought a
new to us 2018 Flweetwood Bounder 35P

Our
old 05
Monaco Cayman 36 PDQ sold after we got back from spending part of
January in the LTVA in Quartzsite. We delivered it to the buyer up in
Phoenix. So now we can concetrate loading the new MH with all our stuff
for the summer travels. It's kind of like each fall and spring like
moving in and out of a house.

We are getting ready to roll to adventures later this week, weather
permitting. It's still cold up north. We are going to first head to our
birth state IOWA to visit Terry's family and then on to Montana to camp
host for the BLM at Carbella campground just north of Gardiner MT on
the Yellowstone river. A view of our Carbella host site
We bought a new residential fridge and got that installed in the
2018 Bounder along with the new forced air furnace. We also equipped
the MH with $8K of solar and lithium bats. 1200 W solar 600ah of bats
new 3000W inverter/converter. More power than I think we will need to
run everything and should not have to run the on board gen at all this
summer. Knock on wood. We also had the solar installer rewire the coach
so when on solar all the electoral circuits are active.

We are in Quartzsite in the
LTVA West just south of the big show tent. There are about 500K to 1
million people camped out here. Got here fine except now having
trouble with our Samsung RF18 fridge not cooling properly. Always
something. Freezer at 10° (S/B -4°) fridge is running about
34° which is OK . Can push the Power freeze and Power cool
buttons to spike the cooling which kicks in for two hours. Is meant to
fast cool warm food when placed in the fridge. Trying to limp by till
we get back to Benson and get it fixed or replaced. Loews has a new
model replacement for $1200 that will fit. Still waiting to replace the
forced air gas furnace which was determined not repairable as it was
rusted from water leak. Found out that was normal for that model unit
by the mobile repair guy we hired. Got a portable propane Buddy Heater
for now. Do have a table top ice maker so that is a must have and
cam move in our portable 12V cooler from the truck to use inside the
MH. This is differently a shake down cruse. Bottom line I do have a
Americas RV Warranty policy (paid $8K for 5 years) that has full
coverage with only $100 deductible so all this should be covered. Well
rhey didn't cover it due to the rust as one of their disclaimers. Oh
well thery gave us $500 in good will.
Terry is loving it getting back into the Gem and Mineral Club
activities here. Just driving around as this place is packed with RVs
and campers, much more so than what we had ever seen before. Lots of
Nomads as in partially homeless living out of vans, cars, tents, school
buses, etc. It's something else to witness to be sure.
