Sunday November, 12

Another Sunday paper reading day and later Terry got things ready for a dinner guest.
Jan a good friend from the rock club.
He made potato dinner rolls and pot roast in a dutch oven.

We sat around after dinner and talked and mid evening the generator stopped.
Got it going again and then made this post in the RV.NET forum.

OK so we didn't run our Honda 2000 gen during the summer and now it has to be chocked slightly.
We are in the BLM in Quartzsite and use it every night now. We have added carb cleaner to the gas supply.
We just had to replace the spark plug as it was fouled and the gen stopped running.
What else can we do to bring this unit back to like new?

Monday November, 13

Sandy and Bob Pickard stopped by on their way back with another big purchase.
Two big solar panels, a Solar Boost 2000e Controller, and cables to make it all work.
We went to their campsite and helped them put it all together.
I was surprised to learn how much basic dc electric knowledge I had forgotten.
After a couple of calls to the dealer, all went well and they ended up with SOLAR POWER.
We all felt like Tim the Tool Man Taylor  when we were done.
Of course we were so busy having fun that I forgot to take pictures.

Tuesday November, 14

Today we had one of those days every RVer dreads. Sitting out at the picnic table at about 5 PM happy hour.
I look over at the 5er and see water flowing out from under it.  A LEAK and we are not even hooked up to city water.
Terry runs to the trailer and sez yes the water pump is running. Looks in the bathroom stool area and
water all over the floor and a spray of it coming from out behind it. We sprung a leek, and we're not even a boat.
Thank god we were here when it happened.

A leak in the plastic part below  right at the white ring was the problem. A cracked part.
Terry ran into Q and the RV shop didn't have the correct part but did give us a fitting to cap off the pipe.
We cleaned the stool before we took this picture. First one was not pretty.

So for a day or so we will have to flush with sink water, but not a big deal in the scheme of things.

As I told Terry shit happens, BAD choice of words...  or should I say a water leak happens.
But you know it gave us content to post on the blog.

We now have several towels outside drying and a clean water closet floor.

You just have to take these things in stride when fulltiming.
Like you never had a stool go nuts in your stick house.

We will make sure we turn off the DC pump when away on day trips from now on.
We have had several leeks over the years when connected to city water, so a long time ago
stopped using the city water connection, and just use the on board water pump and fill the
fresh water tank. Guess you can have problems with either system.

Wednesday November, 15

Terry got up early and went for the usual USA Today paper and also came home with a new
part for the stool. The close in RV vender in Tyson Wells had the part and for a prime price.
$33 bucks.
But beats driving to Parker or Yuma for it.

He suggested I get up and take pictures of him replacing the part.
I promptly told him I was not into taking plumbers butt crack shots. He claimed he would
hold his pants up. We will stop right here and let your mind picture this...

This is NOT Terry butt a generic picture off the web. Google search is great. Now move on.
Sorry for that...

Anyway the repair was done and in such time, that he still had time to rush off to the rock club
for his morning shop time. I knew there was a reason he was up early and hunting for the parts.
Right after lunch he did the laundery. What a swell guy.

This afternoon we went to the library for a new selection of books and tonight
Terry is off to a night session of wire wrapping at the rock club. But in return he is to stop by and
get a fast food treat for us for a late supper.

It has been a little cooler and the best weather yet.  Day after day after day. I person could get spoiled.

Thursday November, 16

Well Yes it is Thursday and what can I say another day of perfect weather. Day after day of this can get boring,
but when I get repotrs of the weather up north. I came back to earth and say OK I'll settle for this.
Some people just getting here are reporting driving through SNOW.  We try not to remember what that is.

I hope you got over the plumbers joke above. Didn't get any hate mail from plumbers... Yet.

Having pork stir fry tonight for supper. It was planned for last night untill we knew Terry had a rock club meeting.
Still have piece of high trans fat fried chicken left over from last nights fast food event.
Boy did we pig out on that... 'Chesters' chicken at Loves was good but let me tell you the coleslaw sucks bad.
They had hard rolls instead of biscuits that were real good.

Friday November, 17

Terry went to play in the shop and I continued to read my latest read The World Is Flat by Thomas L. Friedman
Would you believe I'm reading  non fiction?   To add to my mind instead of just murder mysteries.
It is about why globalization is in warp drive. Glad I'm retired and not young and still working.
Things need to change big time in this country for the USA to stay on top of this game.

We went to Blyth, CA for a couple of spark plugs for the Honda 2000 gen. and then to Albersons for more food.
Now back inside after a small fire and sunset to watch TV ( Las Vegas, This Old House Hour and then
TA DA Real Time With Bill Maher.

Will have get the portable TV out on the picnic table and watch outside with a afternoon campfire the BIG game
tomorrow... Ohio vs Michigan football game. Orig. from Iowa so the Big Ten is in our blood.
Been reading in the USA Today about what these couches are now being paid. College sports is out of control.
But will watch anyway...  Take care and have a great weekend.

Spent the day doing not much of anything, with the highlight of the day being the big football game between Ohio
State and Michigan.  Usually when these games get a lot of hype they turn out to be a big bust, but it was a good
game.   We were both multi tasking while watching the game,  Ron was on the computer working on web sites, and
stirring up the rabble on the RV forums, and I was working on a sterling silver chain that I had started last Thursday
at the Rock and Gem club.

The chain I am currently working on will have some kind of stone, enamel or glass bead in it,  I have the links
done, and now have to prepare the beads.

Had to make a short supply run into Q for drinking water and a few groceries.  Hamburgers and baked french fries
for supper, nothing gourmet, just keeping it simple tonight.
